After Easter, my Son Oliver and I met with Robin Richardson, Vice Captain of the Solent Sunbeams, based at Itchenor, Chichester harbour. Robin very kindly rowed us out to a couple of the Sunbeams, so I could take photographs of these beautiful “antique” racing yachts.

The Sunbeams design dates from 1923, and ‘Dainty’ is the first built and still racing…she was taken to St Tropez in 2022, where she was admired by all. Many of the fleet that race every Sunday during the season are later built, but all strictly adhere to the Class specification.

I would like to give thanks to Robin for all his help over the past few weeks, and to the Sunbeam Club, very friendly and accommodating to me.
